RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

Rage Against the Machine (Rage o R.A.T.M.) es un grupo musical estadounidense. Constituido en el año 1990 por Tom Morello y Zack de la Rocha. Junto con Tim Commerford y Brad Wilk, el grupo tocó durante toda la década de los años 90 hasta su disolución en 2000.

Su estilo característico es una sólida fusión de hip hop, rap, funk, punk, hardcore, y rock duro. Los solos del guitarra de Tom Morello se recalcan por sus prominentes usos de pedales y efectos, y sobresalen sus emulaciones de los scratch y otros efectos de los djs de hip hop. EL cantante Zack de la Rocha participó en grupos de punk y hardcore metal antes de volverse un apasionado de las rimas del rap: de ahí viene su estilo agresivo de rapear y los fuertes gritos que incluye en algunas canciones. Se aprecia también un pequeño toque de jazz por parte del bajista Tim Commerford, que perteneció a un grupo de ese estilo a mediados de los años 1980; finalmente, la batería de Brad Wilk está cargada de ritmos funk especialmente contundentes. Este estilo de fusión fue más tarde imitado por otras bandas, atribuyéndosele la etiqueta de Rapcore o Rap metal

ive at Pompeii es un vídeo de la banda británica Pink Floyd, dirigido por el director Adrian Maben durante el mes de octubre de 1972 en las ruinas de Pompeya, Italia.

La película consiste básicamente en la banda Pink Floyd tocando en un escenario ante un publico inexistente, que representaba a los fantasmas de las personas que habían vivido allí hace más de 2 mil años.

El concierto no presenta los característicos espectáculos de luces y fuegos artificiales de los conciertos de Floyd, sino que fueron reemplazados por las ruinas romanas y el volcán Vesubio.

JIMI HENDRIX - ARE YOU EXPERINCE

Este discazo es otro de los discos que estaban en la colección de mi viejo, toda la calidad y versatilidad del guitarrista se ven en esta obra, que fue el disco debut de su banda llamada "The Jimi Hendrix Experience". Se puede encajar este disco en el subgénero rock psicodélico, pero yo prefiero ubicarlo en el de blues-rock.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience, se completaba con el guitarrista Noel Redding convertido en bajista y el baterista Mitch Mitchell, ambos músicos britanicos. El disco salio a la venta el 12 de Mayo de 1967 en el Reino Unido y el 23 de Agosto del mismo año en el resto del mundo. Las canciones mas reconocidas de este cd son: "Foxy Lady", "Manic Depression", "Red House", "Hey Joe" y "Purple Haze".

Curiosidades: la tapa que ven a su izquierda es la de la edición Estado unidense, este es disco que pone a Jimi Hendrix en la sima del rock and roll a nivel mundial, como muchos artistas no fue reconocido en sus comienzos en su tierra de origen (EEUU) de hecho sus primeros éxitos fueron en Inglaterra. En su arribo a esas tierras Hendrix hizo numerosos amigos entre los que se estaca Eric Clapton, quien en ese momento tocaba en el grupo Cream, dicha banda permitió que Jimi se uniera a ellos en escena. Estos dos grandes guitarristas son los que hicieron tan popular a la Fender Stratocaster y dicho instrumento les debe parte de su fama a ellos así como a David Gilmour y Ritchie Blackmore.
